Initiatives Plus

The opening to new possibilities and experiences it is what allows a school is in continuous evolution, be innovative and not be swayed by the inertia of what has already been established.

We want the possibility of forming within a horizon international closer, attractive and easy. We are interested in both students and teachers to consider their learning possibilities are multiplied thanks to the opening up to the international level.

NEWMAN'S AMBASSADORS

An initiative promoted especially by the Dept. Institutional Relations and International college and supported by all of the Coordinating team of the ESO and Bachillerato. It is presented as a call to all those students who are anxious to participate actively in the initiatives of the college, to help and be a reference for all their peers and represent the school on multiple occasions that arise in the their presence can be an enrichment for all.

SCHOLARSHIPS EUROPE

The College Newman participates in the Scholarship of Europe, a unique initiative promoted by the Banco Santander and the University Francisco de Vitoria to enhance the talent, reward excellence and to supporting the creation of networks of leadership.

The program aims to travel to the depths of the history, essence and ideals of the university, which was born in Europe, to wake up on your prospective students the attitude of a true university. In this way, to build a network of university leaders in Europe willing to make the best of the university and reflect it in the society.

Learning through culture

Learning a language is not only to master a language, it's not mechanical, it implies a greater dimension. Is learn about their culture and history. Therefore, in the college, we implemented the teaching of languages through its tradition and readings. We consider it essential to the learning of a second language from a historical context or literary and at the same time close to the students.

Process immersive oral and written

We encourage immersion in the language through different daily activities and day-to-day, so it learns a so natural and realthrough the experience, and in a particular context. Also with exits and other complementary proposals to reinforce to students the use of language in situations outside the school context.

Approach to language in a fun way.

From early Childhood Education to introduce the new language through leisure activities and fun, appropriate to each stage and age of school -: We make games, songs, stories, role-plays, activities, plastic...

English in the Newman

English in our education center is not a subject more. From early Childhood Education, through Primary, until you get to High school and high school, our students live a process of immersion in the language, from orality to writing. So we got a very high level of English at the end of the journey of education that enables them to attend university courses in this language or to study abroad.

We are center external examiner Cambridge in High school, the guarantor of the quality of the learning of our students. Secondary Education students can obtain the First (B2) and the Advanced (C1). In the 6th year of Primary Education students get the B1 level with the Cambridge exam PET.

Projects of orality and conversation

In Secondary and high school students have sessions of orality and conversation periodically for couples where the teachers look at the level acquired.

Play in English

In 4th grade of Elementary school, all years are represented in the work of theatre - "The Wizard of Oz" in English. It is performed in the month of April and it is shown to all parents. During the course, preparing for, working first with all the contents through the reading of the book and then he goes to the play rehearsals and the mounting of the work.

Italian Newman

The Italian is the language of the arts, the music, the food... In the College Newman give students the opportunity to study a foreign language easy to understand and easy to learn.
In class, our students are prepared for official exams such as the CILS and the EVAU through a communicative approach with which they can practice the 4 skills:

Understand and express themselves both orally and in writing, reaching levels B2 and C1 which allows them to raise the average EVAU to achieve their goals.

It is one of the minority languages in terms of speakers, but, precisely for this reason, we know that specialise brings many benefits. Many ex-students have studied with Erasmus scholarship in Italian universities, several of them have been worked in Rome, Milan, Florence...

E-Twinning

Our center is inscribed on the portal of e-Twinning, and has developed an international project of exchange of correspondence between students within this framework with the Italian high school Liceo Giuliano della Rovere (Savona).

Spanish course for foreigners

We offer intensive Spanish language courses for foreign students of the international schools we work with. We offer a language course, guided tours and accommodation in family homes.

Wizards of languages

Each course we have the opportunity to have among us 3 or 4 italians in the 1st year of high school working and support the work of the faculty of Italian at the College Newman. Are attendees of languages that accompany us during one season, and promote the conversation with students. In addition, perform a cultural presentation about your country or city.
